Replacing the Battery on a Garage Door Opener
The battery of the garage door opener is located inside the motor unit, the battery supplies back up power to the opener during a power outage. If the battery doesn’t hold a charge, your garage door opener won’t operate with the power disconnected.
You do not need to call a professional and spend a lot of money to replace garage door opener. More often than not, garage doors stall because its batteries are weak. If this is the case, all you need to do is to replace the batteries of the door opener.
The exercise is very simple and requires less than 15 minutes to complete. Tools required are a step ladder, Phillips screw driver and a pair of work gloves.
WARNING

• NEVER allow small children near batteries.
• If battery is swallowed, immediately notify doctor.
To reduce risk of fire, explosion or chemical burn:
• Replace ONLY with CR2450 coin batteries.
• DO NOT recharge, disassemble, heat above 212° F (100° C) or incinerate.
The battery should produce power for up to 7,000 cycles. The app will prompt you when the battery should be replaced.
You can replace the battery of the garage door opener by following the blow simple steps:
Wear work gloves to protect your hands from any injury.
Unplug the garage door opener, or turn off the house circuit breaker of the garage door opener.
Open the light cover.
Remove the battery compartment cover screw and then remove the cover.
Pull the battery out and then disconnect the wires.
Connect the wires to the new battery.
Insert the battery into the compartment.
Re install the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.
Plug in the garage door opener or turn on the house circuit breaker of the garage door opener.
